Day 17:  I am thankful today for the consequences that God allows us to endure.  Sometimes the consequences are good, but mostly I notice the unpleasant ones.  But they act as a deterrent against doing the offending action again.  Sometimes it is hard to see what caused the consequence, but if you search long enough, you can find it.  It is not always our action that causes the consequence, but someone else's.  But even that can teach us to be wise and discerning in our choices.  Thank you God for the ways that you teach us.

Day 16: I am thankful today for my children.  They are growing up sooo fast.  It seems like such a short time ago, they were small and dependent on me for almost everything.  Now they are becoming beautiful young ladies who can do most things for themselves.  I treasure the memories of those little girls, but I am so excited to meet the young woman they will grow into.  Thank you God for the gift of children.

Day 15:  I am thankful today to be living in the 21st century when modern medicine can treat or has alleviated a lot of the things that used to kill us or just make us very sick.  I do think that you should use good judgment when deciding how/if to be treated, but I am grateful that it is available when we need it.  Thank you God for the doctors, nurses and scientists who work to make our health better.

Day 14:  I am thankful to be living in Texas where the snow is here today and gone tomorrow. I enjoy the beautiful landscape that snow and ice create, but I am so thankful that I do not have to deal with it all winter long.  Thank you God for the blessing of location.

Day 13: Today I am thankful for my friend and her new healthy baby boy.  New born babies are such a reminder of God's goodness and mercy.
